Proverbs 31:10-14 an ideal woman in history (part 1)

We read of an ideal woman starting today from the view point of the richest, wisest and most successful man in history.

Overview: The woman is a wife, a mother, a successful career woman and citizen in her community in her own right. She is godly, wise, loving, generous, kind, industrious, and highly respected in the society. She is well educated and knowledgeable about the things that matter for her and her household to live a super abundant life.

today’s summary (verses 10-14)

  • note the terms the husband uses to describe this woman: virtuous, capable, precious, trustworthy, life enriching, bringing good, consistent.
  • note the verbs and action phrases describing her actions: finds, busily spins, bringing from afar, She does researches and locates the best deals in quality and quantity. She is hands on in her manufacturing business. She is not restricted by boundaries in terms of finding the best deals for her family.
  • She brings in richness in variety to meet needs and wants of her people.

A Wife of Noble Character

10 [a]Who can find a virtuous and capable wife?
    She is more precious than rubies.
11 Her husband can trust her,
    and she will greatly enrich his life.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
    all the days of her life.

13 She finds wool and flax
    and busily spins it.
14 She is like a merchant’s ship,
    bringing her food from afar.
