Do women still need men?

three cords hard to be brokenDo women need men? YES. Can women survive alone? NO. Look at the following staggering statistics on WWII. Most of the dead among the soldiers were men. They gave their lives for their respective nations. Can women ever replace men in a major war like this one? I would think the answer is no. Women cannot. Will there be a day when women run the world and become dictators so that there will be everlasting peace? All women know this is a ridiculous question. No woman shall survive if such a day should come. No matter how much I sympathize and empathize with many woman issues concerning inequality and oppression in many parts of the world, I would still claim that men must assume the God-given responsibility to work the land to produce and stand the ground to protect. Some women are capable to assume highly stressed (physically and or mentally)duties, but they may suffer a shorter life as a result. Are women being selfish to want men to continue doing their traditional roles? I would say it is not a matter of choice. It is more a matter of abilities and capabilities. Am I being discriminating and stereotyping? No. I do not speak from the viewpoint of any gender interest group. I speak as an average human and know what I can and cannot do.

I quote here an interesting and warning development on life expectancy between men and women:
“The gap in life expectancy between men and women has dropped to less than four years, official figures show.
Women have historically lived much longer than men, but that is changing as men give up heavy manual labour and more women take on the stress of work.
The ONS figures show that the difference in life expectancy has fallen sharply over the past 30 years.
A think tank said women are suffering ‘what were once male diseases’, such as heart disease and high blood pressure, as a result of ‘moving into roles that were once taken by men’.”

I quote below some verses from the Bible. Both men and women are included in these passages of importance: hearing and believing the words of God, being baptized, and living to ripe old age together in peace and without fear of war anymore.

So Ezra the priest brought the Law before the assembly of men and women and all who could hear with understanding on the first day of the seventh month.

Acts 5:14 And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women,

Acts 8:12But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized.

Acts 17:12Therefore many of them believed, and also not a few of the Greeks, prominent women as well as men.

Zechariah 8:4“Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Old men and old women shall again sit In the streets of Jerusalem, Each one with his staff in his hand Because of great age.

  1. I like your post and your honsty. Today, sometimes women who share our views are criticized for many reasons. God made man AND woman in His image and after His likeness, but our roles were meant to be different and there is nothing wrong with that. When man and woman cohesively work together in God’s will, the results are numerous! Thank God for you!
